Where are you buying your books this holiday season?

READ this brilliant op-ed by author Richard Russo first.

Peace...

  1. OK.... because if you say he's brilliant, he must be!

  2. Not only was Russo's piece eloquent and interesting, I followed his link to hello, hello books ( an energetic indie bookstore) and it was fascinating, too. Thanks Linda!

  3. Thanks for the link, Linda. I read (and agreed with) Russo's piece. And I also followed his link.

  4. I don't buy from Amazon all that much. Mostly from Smashwords.

  5. Power corrupts, always will. I've had my own problems with Amazon, deleting my book reviews because the reviewer didn't purchase my book with them. I guess it is their website, but it's my book, and a good review on their website would only increase the chances that someone would buy the book there. Whatever.

I'm trying to do my shopping much different this year, trying to go more local, and downsizing—because how good have people really been this year ; )

    Thanks for the article!

  6. I buy from Chapter/Indigo, but then I'm Canadian so that sort of answers the question.
Plus I can walk to Chapters in less thsn twenty mins from where I live.
    Take care, Gillian
