As a writer, I favor the 'little guys': first-time book authors and small, indie presses. In 2009, I reviewed a handful of such books, and will continue to do so. My penchant is for books that delve in some form with mental illness and/or substance abuse, explicitly or in a more subtle fashion, but I'll read any book if you rave about it. So please drop me your recommendations. These links take you to the original reviews.
