  3. Thanks you both for reading. This poem was inspired by family and friends who smoke, how the nicotine stains everything - the walls, fingers, skin, lungs - yellow.

  6. At the risk of plagiarizing myself: If they'd put that warning on the cigarettes it'd be a lot more effective than the Surgeon General's warning. I will always associate the Surgeon General with C. Everette Koop, no matter who it actually is, (much as people associate fried chicken with Col. Sanders), and that hyperactive soul patch or whatever it is growing on his chin makes him very difficult to take seriously.
